THE ALBUM!!!
This month I will start recording my (first ever) album with Richard Sadler, my bassist and Matthew Kelly (arranger). The idea of my fans being able to donate towards the funding of the album, came to me after speaking with BrotherDouglas (a fan in USA) who wanted to contribute money towards my projects so I could carry them out indepedently and maintain complete creative control. Anyone who makes a donation will be credited and if it's £10+ will receive a free album when it's finished.
If the donation button doesn't work you can still send money via your paypal account directly into mine by paying to my email address 'jonomccleery@hotmail.com'. If you can't or don't want to use paypal, you can send me a cheque, just email me and I'll give you an address. Thanks, Jono

okay this is more of a 'blog' than news, but anyway, it's been a very interesting year so far for me, it kicked off with a live show at bbc radio Hampshire and shortly after, supporting Tom Robinson at the Battersea Arts Center (which was great). The rest is a bit of a blur, but I know I've recently played in Paris, done a show with Fink in Brighton.. oh yeah and played with James Chadwick, John Smith and Sam Beer in Camberwell. Playing at Poejazzi was a highlight too. I'm getting live performances of mine televised on Dannii's new sky tv channel MUSFLASH / 375. And I've started playing basketball again too which means I'm alot fitter and happier. I'm gonna play a couple of songs with the part-time-heroes at the Jazz Cafe in Camden on thursday 5th April, which is bound to be an amazing experience. And I've just compiled an EP of experimental / improvised recordings which has opened my mind to the different directions that I can take my music ( of which I'll have limited copies of available at my Ramjam gig in Kingston on 6th April). So, i think it's looking good from here. Jono

The Part Time Heroes featured my vocals & writing on a few of their tunes, which were released earlier this month on their debut EP Realise. They've been getting great support from Giles Peterson at Radio 1 and the response has been outstanding.

I probably should mention that throughout '06 my song Bet She Does
has been aired regularly on BBC 6 radio thanks to Tom Robinson. Fiona Talkington at BBC Radio 3 has also featured me a few times on the Late Junction show. Dannii at Onetaste has had me on her new tv show 'tastebuds tv' sky channel 370. And my Trio were featured at the Official Download Chart show which was also televised on a sky channel. Just so I don't forget. J 15/08/06
My new ep 'alive again' is finished and awaiting it's launch at the Ramjam
club in kingston on 14th Sep with my trio.

The Jono McCleery Trio is born! First gig 25th Feb. Richard Sadler on
upright bass & Jason Reeve on drums. Two of the finest (and nicest)
musicians around. I've also abandonned recording my new EP, partly
because Alex's 8-track ran out of memory, but mainly because I now
want to record it with my Trio.

My first single is being released! with www.wcsrecords.comOut Monday
27th Feb, get your copy at Virgin Megastore, HMV.co.uk or download it
with iTunes
